Why convert by ingredient?
A cup measures volume, but a gram measures weight — and a cup of flour is far lighter than a cup of honey. Generic converters ignore this and give the wrong weight. Panvert uses a per-ingredient density table, so these kitchen conversion tools give you accurate grams every time. Learn more about the cup unit and why weighing beats scooping.
Frequently asked questions
How many grams is 1 cup of flour? About 125 g of all-purpose flour per US cup (bread flour ~127 g, cake flour ~114 g).
How many grams is 1 cup of sugar? About 200 g of granulated sugar, 220 g packed brown sugar, or 120 g powdered sugar per US cup.
Are these US or metric cups? Conversions use the US cup (236.6 ml). A UK or metric cup is 250 ml, so values are slightly higher.
